Kristen Stewart
Age: 19
Made The List Because: Kristen’s punky style shocked conservative Hollywood (but in a good way). She famously teamed a Yigal Azrouel mini dress with a pair of Converse trainers on the 2009 MTV Awards red carpet – and actually got away with it!

In an article posted on iAfrica, Kristen’s stylist and established people in the fashion industry (such as Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and Proenza Schouler) talk about her style and how it has developed during her years in the spotligt. Read it below and don’t hesitate to share your thought on Kristen’s fashion.

The ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’ has had something of a style transformation in recent months since making it big as an A-list Hollywood star and her stylist Tara Swennen says she’s willing to try anything.
She added: “She’s comfortable in her own style and has a natural edge to her, but when she’s in the mood she likes to go elegant.”
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana also agree, saying: “It’s Kristen’s desire to experiment that puts her in a league of her own, as she effortlessly manages to pull of an uber-cool look every time.”
The pair are such big fans of the new film they even co-hosted a special screening of it in New York.
The men behind Proenza Schouler also said they thought 19-year-old Kristen had a “strong individualism” and “a self-awareness beyond her years”.
Kristen has previously spoken about how much her style has changed.
She said: “I have grown so much. The biggest change for me has been sort of opening up.”

Kristen Stewart Does Her Own Singing In ‘Runaways,’ Joan Jett Reveals

LOS ANGELES — It’s no secret that Kristen Stewart has become very, very famous over the past year. It’s also no secret that she takes her craft very seriously, respects a lot of artists who have come before her and holds a special place in her heart for Joan Jett.

At Monday’s (November 16) “New Moon” premiere, the legendary rocker was a special guest on the red carpet, walking just a few feet ahead of the A-list actress who has spent the past few months sharing her short, spiky haircut for “The Runaways,” an upcoming film about Jett’s all-girl ’70s punk band. Stewart told us the film is going to aim for a Sundance premiere in January, and Jett revealed much more about the pair’s friendship and whether KStew will be performing her own music in the flick.

MTV: So, Joan, are you a “Twilight” fan?

Joan Jett: I’d obviously heard about the movie, but before she was cast as me, I hadn’t seen it. Of course, when she was cast as me, I wanted to see the movie, and I’ve seen everything she’s done. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really entertaining, and I’m excited that she was cast as me in “The Runaways.”

MTV: Kristen told us awhile back that she wasn’t sure if the director would dub in her singing voice and guitar. Will we hear her or a studio musician?

Jett: She’s singing. She’s definitely doing the singing, yeah. And during the filming, she was playing guitar. We went through it. I showed her the positions that I play — because some guitar players will use different hand positions on the boards — so I showed her how I played it, and she picked it up really well. I’m a lefty, too — not guitar-wise, but in my handwriting. So she switched that up too; she was writing with her left hand. She really, really embodied it.

MTV: We know you and Kristen became very close. What kinds of questions did she have for you?

Jett: I don’t know that she had specific questions, so much as she just observed me a lot. We talked; I would talk to her. She didn’t really have to ask me. I’d just dump on her my feelings about the Runaways: what it meant to me, what I thought we were trying to achieve, how I felt about girls playing rock and roll and stepping outside the box of what we were allowed to do in life, just that whole thing. And she’d listen to my accent and watch my body language. She’s an actress of weight, honesty, integrity and depth, and she’s very serious. She takes it as art.

Brooks Barnes at The New York Times has posted a great article about Kristen, her career and the huge success of The Twilight Saga. It’s definitely worth reading.

WE know, courtesy of Us Weekly, that Kristen Stewart spreads butter on her blueberry bagels. People magazine just chronicled her alleged romance with her “Twilight” co-star, Robert Pattinson, in an entire issue devoted to the movie franchise. And everyone from “Access Hollywood” to The New Zealand Herald has chewed over her supposedly “moody,” “mopey,” “melancholy” demeanor. What hardly anyone outside Hollywood knows — or at least recognizes amid the tabloid frenzy, hyperventilating fans and cheesiness of the “Twilight” movies — is perhaps the most interesting thing about her: At 19 Ms. Stewart is considered one of the most promising actresses of her generation, with Oscar winners like Sean Penn and Jodie Foster lining up to offer praise.

“I do wish that people would focus more on the work, and I can’t say that I don’t take it personally,” said Ms. Stewart, who reprises her role as Bella Swan, an ordinary high school girl who falls in love with a sensitive vampire, in the forthcoming film “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

“But I understand it because what you do as an actor is so tied up in who you are as a person,” she continued with a deep sigh. “What really kills me — it really rips me up — is when people think I’m abrasive, inconsiderate or ungrateful because I don’t go outside in a bikini and wave to the paparazzi. Come on!”

In her recent interview for Teen Vogue, Dakota Fanning says the following about her relationship with Kristen:

Making New Moon also gave Dakota a chance to get to know Kristen Stewart before they started shooting the upcoming Runaways biopic. “We became really close,” Dakota says, “like we’d known each other for our whole lives. We talk all the time.” Their off-set friendship added a layer of peculiarity to the proceedings on the New Moon set—”I’ve never been such an evil character, and because I do know Kristen so well, being mean to her was really weird. It’s like, Sorry, dude!” But the chemistry came in handy when Dakota and Kristen played punk rockers Cherie Currie (the Runaways’ lead singer) and Joan Jett. “The relationship that Joan and Cherie have in the script is kind of the one that Kristen and I have in real life,” Dakota says—although, she clarifies, “minus the destructive part.” (In an e-mail from the Eclipse set, Kristen effusively praises her costar, writing, “Dakota is one of the most consistently moving actors I have ever worked with. I’m always better with her.”)
