Chris Weitz once again mentions how impressed he is by Kristen and her acting in an audio interview posted at KCRW. A transcript of the Kristen-related parts can be found below. Go here to listen to the whole interview.

Especially Kristen who has to carry the entire film, was shooting everyday, and I think is just a force of nature. I think she’s absolutely extraordinary. I think she’s one of the best actors living to be honest.

The way that she portrays emotions is extraordinary. I don’t think I’ve ever met an actor who had a better bs meter on themselves. Even takes that I thought were wonderful she’d say ‘No, No, No’ and than the next one would be much better. She delivers this kind of really wonderful performance.

The interview Kristen did with Ryan Seacrest at the New Moon Los Angeles premiere on November 16th, has been posted online! Watch it below and then head on over to the gallery for screen captures. Enjoy!

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly: Popwatch, New Moon director Chris Weitz talks about how it was working with Kristen and how great he thought she was. The interview also features a new behind the scenes photo from the movie. Click on the thumbnail below to view it.

Do you think Kristen evolved as an actor in this movie?
I’m not sure she evolved as much as she had room to run. She’s a thoroughbred as far as actors go. To me, she can do know wrong. The experience of working with her and the caliber of work she was doing was pretty extraordinary. Let’s put aside girl in love with a vampire, her ability to manifest these emotions below the surface, above the surface just to get things right. She’s extraordinarily exacting of herself and in those moments where I was able to give her the room to do that are things I’m very proud of. That’s a high point.

Congrats to the cast and crew for a spectacular box office opening! Feel free to continue letting us know your thoughts on the film!

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon grossed an astounding $140.7 million at the box office this weekend, exploding most industry expectations en route to the biggest autumn opening weekend in history and the third biggest three-day debut ever, according to early estimates from Hollywood.com Box Office. (The Dark Knight still retains the record for the biggest weekend debut with $158.4 million, and Spider-Man 3 is second with $151.1 million.) The second film in Summit Entertainment’s blockbuster franchise outright doubled Twilight’s opening weekend of $69.6 million, and it did so almost entirely with a female audience: A whopping 80 percent of New Moon tickets went to women. Theatergoers were evenly split between those under 21-years-old and over, and they were clearly satisfied, giving New Moon a solid “A-” CinemaScore rating. Despite the film’s sharp drop from its record-setting $72.7 million opening day — New Moon’s Saturday total was $43.2 million, and it’s estimated to take in $24.8 million on Sunday — it’s abundantly clear that Bella, Edward, and Jacob have plenty to howl about: Worldwide, New Moon raked in $258.8 million.”

StarPulse got the chance to sit down with Kristen for a Q&A session about her co-stars and New Moon. Read it below.

At first it seemed like being the leading lady of a number one franchise would be too much for Kristen Stewart to handle. On her first round of press for Twilight, she appeared intensely nervous. She was photographed smoking a bong and later incurred the wrath of Twihards with some poor choice of words.

Two movies and a year of press later, Stewart seems a much mellower, well adjusted lady. Maybe it’s her Joan Jett hair that projects a more carefree attitude, but her body language is definitely more comfortable, and she speaks with decisive confidence. At least she did in her press conference for the second film’s release.

New Moon is the second film in the Twilight saga. This is the one where Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) breaks up with Bella Swan (Stewart) for her own good. Out of her inconsolable depression comes a relationship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). This sets up the Team Edward/Team Jacob conflict for the rest of the series.

A year ago when we talked to you seemed to be a shy, sensitive young actor. How has this past year been for you in terms of this nonstop thing on New Moon?

Kristen Stewart: I think I’ve gotten a lot more comfortable with talking about myself and knowing that what you say people are really going to take into consideration. That always intimidated me so much that I minced every word that came out of my mouth. I couldn’t finish a sentence because I was so concerned about how it was going to sound. I didn’t want to come across insincere about something that I really love to do. So I realized that instead of refraining from saying, “I’ve put my heart and soul into this thing and I love it.” That’s what I should’ve said instead of, like the really logical, over analytical reason why I love it. You just do. I’ve gotten more comfortable with it.
