K. Stew LOVES Bella Swan’s Carolina Herrera Wedding Dress

Many people are waiting to get a glimpse of the gown designed by Carolina Herrera for Bella Swan’s marriage to Edward Cullen. Kristen and the cast have been kept pretty mum about the dress but she does share her thoughts on it …

In what will be the third-most anticipated wedding of the year (sorry Bella, you come behind the Kates), Bella Swan will wear a gown designed by Carolina Herrera — and that’s pretty much all we know at this point. They are keeping the dress’ details locked up, and even the nosiest of fashion people haven’t gotten a glimpse of the sure-to-be-famous frock.

One thing we do know is that Kristen Stewart really, really loves the gown, and she’s no stranger to good design: she was featured alongside Jack and Laz of Proenza Schouler in Vogue as their muse. Although the crew kept the actress completely covered up between takes so that no photos would leak, she spilled a minimal amount of information about its design, revealing,”the dress was tight, it was so tight… I really liked it. It was very pretty.”

Garrett Hedlund talks about Kristen

Sorry about the lack of updates! News has been quiet in Kristen world, but stay tuned for “Eclipse” DVD captures, as well as other goodies.

Here’s a new interview with Kristen’s “On the Road” co-star, Garrett Hedlund, where he has some very nice words to say!

“Now with ‘On the Road,’ getting to work with Walter Salles, who I owe such a tremendous amount to because he gives me so much,” he explained of the “Motorcycle Diaries” director. “He fulfills me with so much other people haven’t been able to do, and he does it so simply.”

Hedlund went on to say that “Road” will be full color not black-and-white, which had been rumored, and he called the experience, fittingly, “a long journey.”

Regarding Kristen Stewart, Hedlund had nothing but the highest compliments to pay his co-star.

“[She is] incredible, and in this, everyone is going to get to see how hard a worker she is, the devotion that she puts into her work,” Hedlund enthused. “And her performance is going to be exposed highly in this.”

Hedlund added that the entire cast is packed with talent. “Everybody, Sam Riley is phenomenal, we’ve had a lot of wonderful surprises in having people like Viggo Mortenson, Amy Adams, Elisabeth Moss join us,” he said. “Most recently, Steve Buscemi and Terrence Howard. Alice Braga, it’s been phenomenal, it’s been quite the family.”

To some, Kristen Stewart is simply “the ‘Twilight’ girl.” Her arresting turn as love-struck teen Bella Swan in the swoony series of vampire romance blockbusters put her on the map and earned her the mantle of “movie star.”

And for many young actors, this would have represented the chance to cash in, to do a whole bunch of well-paying wannabe hits with various supernatural love interests. Stewart, on the other hand, prefers the more challenging route: offbeat indies, parts that speak to her in a genuine way, and the occasional portrayal of an icon (like, say, Joan Jett). She only hopes that those who want to see her as nothing more than Bella will give her a chance.

“There’s a road I’m going down now, and I’m aware that there’s not as much of an audience for strange movies—for different, eclectic movies—and I totally accept that,” she says. “But at the same time, if I do films like that, I want people to take it for what it is instead of going, ‘Oh, let’s see the ‘Twilight’ girl try to do this.’?”

For once, Kristen Stewart seemed at ease.

The 20-year-old “Twilight” star was enjoying a rare moment of anonymity at one of her favorite restaurants, a rustic hideaway shrouded by a canopy of ferns, perched alongside a twisty road in Topanga Canyon. Notices for a local farmers market, a childbirth preparation class and a 70th birthday celebration for John Lennon decorated the haunt’s bulletin board.

A few honeybees circled the veggie burger on her plate as she chatted about playing a teenage runaway-turned-stripper in her latest film, “Welcome to the Rileys,” a drama coming to theaters Friday. She wasn’t running her hands through her hair, or incessantly shaking her leg, or stuttering as she tried to express herself — all of the characteristic nervous tics she’s often displayed in public since the first “Twilight” film rocketed her into a frightening orbit of celebrity two years ago. Kristen: “Motherhood confounds me”

Here’s a brief new interview from 24 Frames via the LA Times.

In the upcoming “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” Kristen Stewart’s character, Bella Swan, becomes a mother. But that’s a reality the actress says she has a hard time comprehending.

“My best friend just had a baby. She’s my age. So I’m a godmom now, which is … crazy,” said the 20-year-old during an interview to promote her upcoming film “Welcome to the Rileys.”

Asked if the experience was helping her tap into her own maternal instincts, she replied: “It’s actually making me realize more that I have absolutely no idea. Like, I see that going on, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ ”

Though “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth installment in the “Twilight” franchise, doesn’t begin production for a few weeks, Stewart says she’s already been caught up with preparations for the film. She’s had a number of meetings with director Bill Condon and has even temporarily eliminated some favorites from her diet.

“I want a cheeseburger so badly, but, you know, I have to be a vampire in a few weeks,” she said over lunch at a restaurant in Topanga, where she settled for a veggie burger.

Ironically, she won’t even be able to show off her figure for the majority of “Breaking Dawn.”

“I’m incredibly pregnant in the first movie,” Stewart said, adding that she has spent the last couple of weeks trying on prosthetic bellies. “I’ve worn it. It’s … crazy. I’ve done fittings. It gets immense. It gets so massive at some point that it actually looks inhuman. Like it’s hurting her. There are striations of bruises.”

James Wood talks “An American Girl”

Though Kristen has commented that she doesn’t know what she’ll be doing post-Breaking Dawn, here is an interview with James Wood regarding “An American Girl.” Whatever Kristen takes on next, we’re definitely looking forward to it!

Kristen Stewart took on the role of a damaged prostitute in “Welcome to the Rileys” before the “Twilight” series debuted and launched her into superstardom. That film is about to hit theaters, and now another film she first circled during her pre-Bella Swan days looks like it will soon be shifting in production.

On the “Rileys” red carpet Monday, James Woods told us that “An American Girl,” in which Stewart is set to star, is gearing up to shoot in 2011. “She’s been committed to it for two years now, and we’re just about ready to go now in the spring,” he told MTV News.

Woods is directing the film, based on a script by Tom Metcalfe (“The Haunting in Connecticut”). The film follows a high school grad who’s unknowingly recorded having sex and who joins the Marines to escape the humiliation.

Though Stewart had not yet become a breakout star in Hollywood at the time, Woods said he eyed her for the role based on advice from Sean Penn and Dennis Quaid, both of whom had worked with her on previous films. Woods’ casting director tried to talk him into casting another actress, but he was adamant. “She’s the one I want. She’s it,” he recalled telling the casting director.

“Her insight into the script was so perceptive and prescient as it turns out that I was overwhelmed with what a true professional and what a true artist she was, beyond her talent,” he explained. “She’s got a real brain for script analysis. She’s just been totally devoted throughout all this fame. It’s never dented her at all. She’s been terrific from day one up until this very minute.”

Despite that fame that has enveloped her since “Twilight” hit theaters in late 2008 — and despite all the roles that have come her way — Stewart remained committed to “American Girl.” Woods, for one, expected nothing less from the young actress.

“She has been steadfast and true in her commitment, which did not surprise me, because when I started working with her on the script,” he said, “she was so insightful.”

L.A. Times Interview

While we wait for more photos to pop up from tonight, let’s play catch up. Here is a brand new interview with the L.A. Times!

“Twilight” fans love to debate their favorite novel in Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling vampire series. Kristen Stewart says she has her own favorite — and it’s the most explicit and intense of the bunch.

“This one’s really good. This one really goes there, finally,” said the actress who plays the iconic Bella Swan of “Breaking Dawn.” “This one is like the forming of a family. You see everything really come to fruition because I feel like [Bella] has sort of gone through an accelerated growth period.”

In November, Stewart will reprise the Bella role when she begins filming the first half of “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth movie in the “Twilight” franchise, which will be directed by Bill Condon. The story follows [spoiler alert: if you aren't familiar with "Breaking Dawn," skip to the last paragraph] Bella’s marriage to vampire Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson), as the two finally consummate their relationship and Bella becomes pregnant.

“At at this point,” Stewart says, “you do accept [Bella] as a mom.”

Because their child is half-human and half-vampire, Bella’s pregnancy is riddled with complications — all leading up to a dramatic birth scene, in which Edward tears open Bella’s stomach with his teeth to save their baby.

There has been speculation about how the graphic scene will be depicted on screen. Stewart acknowledges it’s a “crazy concept,” also describing werewolf Jacob’s hearing “vampire teeth against vampire skin” during the childbirth scene.

Just how that will play out on screen, though, has yet to be determined. “I’ve seen the script,” which tracks closely to the book, she says. “But it depends on how they shoot it.”

Stewart, who was speaking to 24 Frames to promote her new independent drama “Welcome to the Rileys,” said she thinks her “Twilight” character has been misunderstood. “Bella’s criticized sometimes for being, like, you know — I don’t know, selfish and overly emotional and silly and frivolous and annoying and young,” said Stewart. “That’s sort of like a very judgmental way of looking at it.”

Movieline’s ‘WTTR’ Press Conference Rundown

Here are a few highlights from today’s Welcome to the Rileys press conference:

Not all of Stewart’s bruises were make-up.
Once filming began, the bruises and marks on Stewart’s limbs were added cosmetically. But only because she had some real-life experience to draw from: “I got the bruises initially in rehearsal. I learned how to pole dance, even though you don’t really see it in the movie. You do for a second; it’s like in silhouette in the background. I’m just laying that down. But it really hurts, and you don’t realize that of course it’s gonna show. […] There were so many that I wasn’t sure, like, ‘Do you keep all of them? Or is that just too much? Is it going to look hokey?’”

Stewart’s transitioning between Twilight and roles like Joan Jett or a teenage prostitute is seriously no big thing.
“The few things that I’ve done between the Twilight movies have just coincidentally been very different,” Stewart said. But I haven’t been like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna shock everybody right now and do something totally different. It’s always been totally informed by, you know, something speaks to you, and you need to do it. That’s what it is. Also I’m really lucky to have my cast on the series because as soon as we get back on set together… You always think it’s going to be hard to get back there, but it’s not, because we’ve all wanted to tell the story for so long. And it’s finally going to come to fruition.”

Also, really, people: Stewart doesn’t know what she’s doing after Breaking Dawn.
She said she doesn’t know anything about Martyrs, a proposed remake of the French horror film to which her name has been loosely tagged. (But she’d do a horror film, for what it’s worth.) And as for Wanted 2? “People were talking about that forever… a while ago, but nope. I have no idea what I’m doing next. No idea.”

December 2009 Harper’s Bazaar Wins Cover of the Year

The cover of the December 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, featuring the lead actors of the hit movie franchise Twilight, was chosen by Amazon.com customers as “Cover of the Year.” This is the second year that Amazon.com has hosted the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) Best Cover Contest, and the fifth year that ASME has presented the awards. The announcement was made today by Larry Hackett, ASME president and managing editor, People, at the American Magazine Conference currently underway in Chicago, Ill.

Twelve category winners, chosen by Amazon.com customers during the first round of public voting, competed for the “Cover of the Year” honor. The Harper’s Bazaar cover, which won the “Best Vampire” category before it was chosen “Cover of the Year,” depicts Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in a rare shot together. While the epic image played on the idea of courtship, it was given extra heat due to their real-life romance.

Amy Adams, ‘On the Road’ co-star, talks Kristen

Amy Adams was very popular recently with the young people in her life.

You see, she recently spent four days in New Orleans shooting On the Road with Twilight star Kristen Stewart…

“I got requests for autographs, and I didn’t ask for a single one,” Adams told me yesterday at Variety’s Power of Women luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she was honored for her work with the Bronx-based Ghetto Film School.

Why?

Adams may be a 36-year-old two-time Academy Award-nominee and mother of one, but when it comes to teen, she said, “I guess I’m getting to the point in my life where I’m suspicious of teenagers and I’m intimidated a little bit.”

Yes, Adams knows Stewart is 20 years old. “She’s not a teenager but she’s close enough and I was very intimidated,” Adams said.

Adams is a fan of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire book series. “I told [Stewart] I read the books and she was like, ‘You’ve read the books?,’ ” Adams recalled. “She couldn’t compute it, but you have to imagine I was playing this sort of bedraggled drug addict so I’m she was like, ‘That doesn’t seem like the audience.’ But she was incredibly gracious and lovely.”
