I tweeted about this earlier, but it’s definitely a must-read, so I thought I should post it here as well! For those not familiar with Noel Clarke, he was last year’s winner of the BAFTA’s Orange Rising Star Award and he presented Kristen hers this year!
So I’m asked to be on the Orange rising star award jury after winning it last year and I’m glad to do that. We (The Jury) watch a hell of a lot of films and after weeks and weeks come up with the final five people and they’re announced.
Then of course Lots of other people chime in with their opinions about who should be on there, because there’s always people who think they know better, but that’s fine too, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
People want Tahar to win, they love A Prophet (I do too, it’s a great movie). People want Carey to win (She is brilliant in An Education, if you like the film or not). People want Jesse to win (He carries Zombieland and is great in everything he does) People want Nick to win, he has a huge following, is british, possibly the best young actor full stop and is gonna go far. And of course people want Kristen to win… But the only difference with her was this… As many people who wanted her to win, there were equally vocal people who absolutely didn’t want her to win. The other nominees didn’t have that animosity against them.
I said nothing. I couldn’t. I wasn’t allowed (and as most people know Nick Hoult is like a little brother I wouldn’t minded if he won. P.S that is not why he was nominated. he is that good) So why does it all bother me? Two reasons.

This is a great article. Kristen has many fans who have seen and love her work. But there are many others who like nothing more than to try and tear her apart. I am tired of seeing the comments about her looking like a stoner or comments that she hates twilight and the fans. She is a genuine actress who is in the business for the roles, not being a star. I will go one step further than the article and say that many naysayers are against her because she co-stared with Rob. There is envy because of the chemistry, envy becauase of their relationship (friends, costars or bf/gf).
This is a great article. I am fan of Kristen. The unfounded negative comments about her really disturb me. I have followed Kristen’s career well before the Twilight Saga. She is a talented young actress. She is sincere, honest, beautiful and dedicated to her craft. Even the press is in on the negativity. She will smile many times, but they will take the picture where she is distracted and not smiling. She will be articulate but they will say that she wasn’t. She will look beautiful but the will tear apart. I am glad that this young man stepped up and wrote this article.
Point one: Noel Clarke is Hot!!!!
Point two: That was great of him to say, and maybe they will work together one day.
Point three: I agree with everything he has said. She is a great actress and there is more to her than Twilight. Watch Adventureland and Speak if you want proof.
Point four: She is a fine actress and we definitely will see more of her in the future
Point five: Thanks for sharing Noel:)
^ I agree, i will add that to those two movies you said, The Cake Eaters. Its amazing :)
There are new pictures of Kristen at the New Moon Press Conference :)

kristen is the best actress of her genration, and that is all…she is so stunning and she deserves this award for her work and dedication in her movies…especially in speak , panic room and adventureland..!!
GO FOR KRISTEN…!!!
Noel, I’d like to say that I loved seeing you at the BAFTAs, and it looks like you’re the only one with the balls to write about the nonsense that Kristen has to face day in and day out. And she’s so dignified, doesn’t respond to any s*** at all. You rock, girl!!
She was gracious enough to thank the fans of ‘Twilight’ in her acceptance speech. She wasn’t awkward at all. Trust me, I’ve seen so many people who give the impression that they’re so posh and sophisticated, but end up in a much worse state than Kristen when it comes to making acceptance speeches during big awards ceremonies.
Kristen’s so beautiful and has shown that she is not restricting herself to ‘Twilight’ alone (‘The Yellow Handkerchief’ is definitely a decent watch), only shows how serious she is about her acting career. She’s very smart and talented & a real star in the making…I’m totally looking forward to seeing her at the Oscars!! :D
