According to Picca Blog, Kristen is in the talks for the leading female role in a Hollywood remake of the Swedish Millenium series. Nothing has yet been confirmed by officials but it’s certainly interesting to discuss role rumors.
Earlier this week here at Popcorn disclose that Sony Pictures is negotiating to buy the rights to the series Millennium, and now there is news for the project. In addition to highlighting the star George Clooney as the character Mikael Blomkvist, the actress who will interpret the Lisbeth Salander has no name.
Well, Kristen Stewart, Bella of the Twilight series, is listed to play the hacker in the trilogy Millennium. Kristen, like Clooney, is considered the only option of Sony, which already holds the rights to adapt.
Also revealed two actresses who would like to interpret the hacker. Ellen Page and Natalie Portman have said they are interested in the role.

OMG! My mum just gave me the first book for Christmas!!!! I’ve been wanting to read this since i first saw them in the bookstore in November and my cousin told me that everyone in France was reading then while she lived there!!
I hope it is true! I can’t believe that they want to make a movie about this!! I hope Kristen gets the role :DD
You just made my day girl! Thank you :)
If this a role that Kristen wants to have, I hope that she gets it. She is so talented. I know that she would be great in the role. It would be good for her career for her to be affiliated with another major film saga that is not Twilight! I love “Twilight” but I think that she would shine in this role.
This is sooo cool! I live in sweden, and these movies are huge here. Kristen would be perfect.. Hope she gets it!
maru: they already HAVE made movies out of the books, i believe that the third movie is in theatres now :) i cant believe that they want to make an american version of the millenium series! i myself is not a big fan of the books, nor the movies- but i would be so happy to see kristen play the role lisbeth salander!! I <3 KRISTEN(L)
^ Really?! Oh, we don’t have it here in Argentina! :(((( Maybe if they make an american version then it will come out here in the cinema :)
Thanks for the info Cassandra :)
@Maru
En Argentina la version sueca se estrena en febrero :-)
Lite Izabelle said. Those movies are already HUGE here in Sweden! (Well, I to live there.) And yepp, the third one is in theaters right now. :)
^ GRACIAS!!!!! :D
I would be very happy to see KEISTEN play the role lisbeth salander..
Yes, I love to see KRISTEN in this movie.. She will be perfect lisbeth salander…
The books are awesome! Noomi Rapace who plays Lisbeth in the swedish version of Millenium triology, rocks! But seeing Kristen in that role, would make me sooo happy. She´s such a great actress and would kick ass as Lisbeth Salander. Truly hope this will happen!!

I do think Kristen would be great in this role (having seen the Swedish movie adaptations), but if Clooney is to play Blomquist… Well, Kristen is a lot younger than him, and I really can’t see the two of them being “romatically” involved, if you know what I mean!
the whole blomqvist/ salander relationship is supposed to be slightly off, so Clooney/Stewart are a nice pairing. But I have to admit that the the swedish movie versions of the books are absolutely brilliant, and shouldn’t tried to be dublicated. I highly suggest everyone to see the swedish versions of the films. But I personally think portman would do a better job than stewart in this case.
My friend read the books and she says Kristen is perfect for the role. I’m gonna start the first one on Saturday :)
I hope she will get to play this role! Sony Pictures please consider her in this movie!

Hmmmm…I think I like the idea of Kristen as Lisbeth, I think shes incredibly talented.
Im on the second book and Id like to see how she portrays the changes in Lisbeth, which are quite extensive.
But on the other hand, I dont like the idea of Clooney as Blomkvist. And normally I really, really like Clooney, cause you know, yum, but I think hes to overtly suave to play Blomkvist, who’s supposed to be very understatedly charming.
I wonder if theres a subtitled version of the Swedish movies, Id like to see them before I make my mind up I think!
I think Clooney is too suave maybe Gerard Butler sounds more gruff and more Blomkvist. But Kristen or Natalie Portman sound good. Who of the two women is shorter/smaller as Lisbeth is only 5 feet tall and around 90 lbs. Would not want them to change the description as it is important to the plot that she looks small and vulnerable.
Stewart is 5’6, Portman is 5’3 and Ellen Page is 5’1. Salander’s pubescent boyish looks become v. important to the plot in the 2nd and 3rd books. Millennium is in a completely different league to Twilight and Stewart isn’t ready for such a complex role. Salander has a photographic memory, is a maths genius, computer genius, is raped twice, been abused her whole life, is legally incompetent, bisexual and suffers from Aspergers syndrome. Portman is more experienced and has something to prove to her critics since Leon. Maybe Ellen Page too, remember her in Hard Candy. p.s. Gerard Butler is a good shout for Kalle Blomkvist!
ellen page is perfect for the role. butler would also make a great blomkvist.
She is Lisbeth Salander – I read the book when it first came out and without realizing it I visulalized Kristen Stewart. Am now reading #2, the girl who played with fire and am more convinced. If you haven’t seen Kristen Stewart in “Scream” you have no idea of her depth and range – unfortunately way too many people only reference the Twilight films and don”t really know her as an Actor. Natalie Portman is way to soft and sweet looking to really pull off the dark side of this woman, Kristen Stewart can. I wish her the very best.
Page and Stewart are way wrong for this role. They are way too wholesome looking. I think Emily Blunt or Shannyn Sossaman have the perfect look and Blunt proved herself quite the naughty/rebel girl in Sunshine Cleaning.
