Robert Pattinson confirmed the fourth installment of the Twilight saga at Cannes Film Festival today:
CANNES — Robert Pattinson, who shot to stardom in “Twilight” and is now filming the second and third movies in the franchise, confirmed Tuesday in Cannes that there will be a fourth installment of the vampire franchise based on the book “Breaking Dawn.”
Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is committed to starring in the final outing to date but doesn’t know when backers Summit Entertainment will begin production because of the actor’s jam-packed shooting schedule.
Fans have been hoping for a movie version of the fourth novel from Stephenie Meyer’s best-sellers, so Pattinson’s commitment is the biggest fillip yet. The fourth book (caution — spoiler alert) centers on Bella and Edward’s marriage and her subsequent pregnancy.
Dropping in on the Croisette on the way to shooting the final four days of “New Moon” in Italy on Friday, Pattinson said he is heading back to Vancouver in October to finish up “Twilight: Eclipse,” the third installment. In between, the British actor, who turned 23 last week, plans to star in “Remember Me,” which Summit also is producing.
The script adaptation for “New Moon” beefs up his character’s role considerably — in the book, Edward is a “a voice in Bella’s head,” he said.
Said Pattinson, laughing: “You’re playing a figment in Bella’s imagination so I was trying to do it in a 2-D way. I hope it doesn’t translate onscreen as being boring.” The hardworking actor is taking a few days off after completing “New Moon” before the start of the “Remember Me” shoot. He plans three days off after an eight-week planned shoot for “Remember Me” before finishing “Eclipse” before October.

yes iam very exciting ive been wanting them to make the 4th book into a movie and im so glad rob is committed to it it sure wouldnt be the same without rob and kristen
Kristen, first off, thanks for doing Breaking Dawn and thanks in advance (because I know you & Rob will) give the love story, wedding and honeymoon the absolute beauty, depth and maturity it deserves. That said, I don’t expect an x-rated movie, on the other hand, save for details, this is an adult story, and we hope it is handled in a mature way, and given it’s due. Chris Weitz is right, the story line is very deep. I really hate the insinuations that because this is a love and supernatural story, it is crack for girls/women – do men not fall in love???? If they deny it, they’re nothing but liars, they’re simply on the fringes of this thing, afraid to engage because it is “unmanly”, etc. Have we become that cynical a society?? The essence of what you are comes through in your beautiful work, Rob & Taylor are right there along with you – you make these characters resonate in ways we could only have dreamt of… Thank you for your belief in love, hope, and miracles…it inspires everyone. All things are possible! Follow your heart, your dreams – make it happen, your career and opportunities will wait – your true friends and supporters want to see you happy – those who don’t aren’t there for the long haul anyway…. make every day count!
PS New Moon looks absolutely gripping, can’t wait, the fountain scene (in the Utube montage I saw earlier, was absolutely heartwrenching and thrilling….) It is an absolute relief to have Edward and Bella back together! In Eclipse, please, please encourage them to play off of a couple of the fun parts of the book, one is when Edward and Bella are talking about her bad luck bringing a plane down! Edward also makes me laugh to myself with the introduction of the bed to his room, what a tease! One more Breaking Dawn comment, there is so much story, Bella & Edward are such dynamic, soulful people with integrity – these two really deserve each other and all of their rewards and I think what strikes me most about these two – is that anyone would be so proud to know them and love them. That is why it is a compliment to you & Rob & your character – that you play them well because I do truly believe you have to have something of them in you to be them so profoundly….. laugh it off, but I know plenty of people who agree. When the Beatles sang All You Need is Love – they knew alot of sides to the world, but believed in Love and inspired us all just the same… and that is why their songs are timeless – Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn will be timeless – because of what you and Rob (and Taylor) have given and I hope you, too have ever lasting Love to Live and Die for…in the end the Love you take is equal to the Love You Make.
breaking dawn is a book about bella and edward getting married it sounds like the perfect story untill they go to the honeymoon and something they thought never could happen did.
