The MTV Movie Awards are finally here! Kristen is up for Best Female Performance and Best Kiss (with Rob Pattinson) and “Twilight” is up for Best Movie and Best Fight. Let’s hope for a sweep for Kristen!

While co-star Robert Pattinson was a relative newcomer to the Hollywood scene, Kristen Stewart was already a veteran by the time she joined the “Twilight” cast. Stewart was among the first to be added to the roster, and the potential Edward role depended on who she had the most chemistry with.
At least, that’s according to director Catherine Hardwicke, who had Stewart audition with the leading candidates — including obviously Robert Pattinson — right in her den. What Hardwicke saw made her find Stewart even more impressive, which is why — according to her — Stewart deserves the Best Female Performance statue at the MTV Movie Awards tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired US rights to Udayan Prasad’s The Yellow Handkerchief.
Oscar winner Arthur Cohn produced the film, loosely based on a Pete Hamill short story adapted by Erin Dignam.
William Hurt, Maria Bello, Kristen Stewart and Eddie Redmayne star in the drama about strangers from two generations who reach out for companionship during a road trip through post-Hurricane Katrina Louisiana.
Samuel Goldwyn Films plans an autumn/winter release.

This is definitely exciting — I can’t wait!!!
Last week, we dropped a bombshell of OME proportions when we announced that the cast of “New Moon” will be presenting exclusive footage from their upcoming “Twilight” sequel during the MTV Movie Awards. Now we can reveal that the never-before-seen video that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be introducing on Sunday’s live show is the movie’s first trailer.
The stars will present the premiere of the “New Moon” trailer on the Movie Awards, airing at 9:00 pm ET on Sunday. Then at 10:45 p.m., the high-definition video will debut online To make sure you don’t miss the big premiere, you can snag our Movie Awards countdown clock right here!
This year, “Twilight” leads all other films at the Movie Awards with seven nominations, including nods for Breakthrough Performance Male nods for Pattinson and Lautner, and Best Performance Female for Stewart. Cam Gigandet, who plays evil vampire James in the movie, has been campaigning heavily (with the help of FunnyOrDie.com) to win Best Fight for his battle with Pattinson. Voting in the Best Movie category, for which “Twilight” is also nominated, will stay open until the end of the live telecast.
